Christine Ashburn is an esteemed lobbyist and has an extensive background in insurance and legislative advocacy. She brings over two decades of experience in government consulting and legislative advocacy.

For nearly 20 years, Christine served as the Chief of Communications, Legislative and External Affairs for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, the state’s insurer of last resort. In that role, she served on Citizens’ executive leadership and led Citizens’ legislative program as well as all aspects of communications, including media relations, crisis communications, employee communications, digital and social media, Citizens’ internal and external websites, corporate branding and agent and policyholder education. During her tenure at Citizens, Christine played a key role in passing significant property insurance reforms, including those related to sinkholes, Assignment of Benefits, and the repeal of one-way attorney’s fees. Additionally, Christine developed Citizens overall communications and media strategy, which was nationally recognized by Ragan Communications. 

Prior to 2005, Christine provided government consulting and legislative advocacy for a wide array of clients before the Florida Legislature and Cabinet on issues, including business, health care, construction, financial services, court funding and implementation of Article V, and constitutional amendment reform.  She also led and served on grassroots and political campaigns and organized political fundraising events.
